Chocolate Mousse
Absolutely! Here’s an easy and scrumptious recipe for Chocolate Mousse:
Ingredients For Chocolate Mousse:
- 7 ounces (about 200g) suitable quality semi-candy or dark chocolate, chopped
- 1 and 1/2 cups (360ml) heavy cream, divided
- 3 big egg yolks
- three tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon natural vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
- Optional toppings: whipped cream, chocolate shavings, berries, and many others.
- Instructions:
Melt the chocolate: Place the chopped chocolate in a heatproof bowl set over a pot of simmering water (double boiler). Stir now and again till the chocolate is absolutely melted and clean. Remove from warmness and allow it cool barely.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the egg yolks, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt until the mixture becomes faded and barely thickened.
- In a saucepan, warmth half of cup (120ml) of heavy cream until it begins to simmer but does no longer boil.
- Slowly pour the heated cream into the egg yolk aggregate, whisking constantly to mix.
- Pour the egg and cream aggregate back into the saucepan and prepare dinner over low warmth, stirring continuously, until the mixture thickens slightly (do no longer permit it boil). This will take approximately 2-three minutes. Remove from warmth.
- Add the melted chocolate to the egg and cream mixture, whisking until well mixed and smooth. Allow the mixture to cool to room temperature.
- In a blending bowl, whip the last 1 cup (240ml) of heavy cream till stiff peaks shape.
- Gently fold approximately 1/3 of the whipped cream into the cooled chocolate aggregate to lighten it. Then, carefully fold in the ultimate whipped cream till absolutely incorporated. Be gentle to maintain the mousse mild and airy.
- Divide the chocolate mousse among serving glasses or bowls.
- Cover the mousse and refrigerate for at the least 2 hours or until set.
- Before serving, you can garnish the chocolate mousse with whipped cream, chocolate shavings, berries, or another preferred topping.
- Enjoy the decadent and creamy Chocolate Mousse!
Note: This recipe makes approximately 4-6 servings, depending on the size of your serving glasses or bowls. Adjust quantities thus for larger or smaller portions.
