Stained Glass Cookies
Beautiful sweets, especially during the holiday season, are Stained Glass Cookies. Here’s how to make these vibrant, celebratory cookies:
Ingredients:
For the Cookies:
- 2 cups flour (all-purpose)
- 1/4 teaspoon of salt
- 1/2 a cup of softened unsalted butter
- 3/4 cup of sugar, granulated
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla essence
- Regarding the Cookie Stained Glass Window:
- Hard candies in a variety of colors, such as yellow, blue, green, and crimson
- Crushed candies in matching hues for optional extra decoration
Instructions:
Combine the all-motive flour and salt in a bowl and stir together. Put away.
Creamy and easy to beat are the softened butter and granulated sugar in any other large mixing basin.
Whisk together the egg and vanilla extract with the butter-sugar mixture. Beat to ensure good mixing.
Stirring constantly, gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients until a dough forms. To firm up the dough, chill it for about half an hour if it’s too soft.
Set the oven temperature to 175°C/350°F. Attach parchment paper to baking sheets.
Using a floured surface, roll out the cookie dough to a thickness of about 1/four of an inch. Cut out shapes with cookie cutters. A smaller form should be reduced in the center of each cookie, where the stained-glass candy will pass.
Make sure there is space between each cut-out cookie when you transfer them to the arranged baking sheets.
Cut out the centers of the cookies where the stained-glass sweet will pass using a knife or a smaller cookie cutter. To roll again and create even better cookies, save these resources.
Fill the space in the center of each cookie’s cutout by pressing one or more extra hard candies of the same color. You can use a single color to match the cookie or combine different colors to create a more vibrant effect.
If desired, add more decoration to the cookies by scattering a few beaten chocolates of the same color on top.
For about 8 to 10 minutes, or until the edges are softly brown and the fillings have melted to create a “stained glass” effect, bake the cookies in the preheated oven.
Take the cookies out of the oven and let cool for a few minutes on the baking sheets before transferring them to wire racks to cool fully.
Similar to stained glass windows, these cookies will have a gorgeous, visible core made from the melted chocolate once they have cooled. They are ideal for festive occasions and holiday celebrations since they are not only the most efficient and aesthetically pleasing but also delectably sweet.
