Christmas Cookies Recipe
Of course! During the holidays, Christmas cookies are a charming and traditional treat. This is a traditional sugar cookie recipe that is always a holiday favorite:
Sugar Cookies
Ingredients:
- 3 cups whole-grain flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 cup softened unsalted butter
- 1 cup of sugar, granulated
- 1 enormous egg
- 2 tsp finely ground vanilla extract
Instructions:
Set the oven temperature to 350°F (175°C).
Whisk the flour, baking powder, and salt in a medium-sized bowl. Set aside.
Beat together the softened butter and sugar in a large mixing mixer until light and fluffy.
Blend the egg and vanilla essence until well combined.
Mixing until the dough comes together, gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet components.
Split the dough into two equal portions, roll each into a disk, cover with plastic wrap, and chill for at least one hour.
After the dough has chilled, roll it out to a thickness of about 1/four of an inch on a floured surface. Utilize cookie cutters to make our favorite shapes smaller.
Put the cookies on a baking sheet covered with parchment paper, and bake for 8 to 10 minutes, or until the edges are starting to turn brown.
Allow the cookies to cool for a few minutes on the baking sheet, then move them to a wire rack to finish cooling.
Ice (Optional)
Ingredients:
- 2 cups of sugar powder
- 2 to three teaspoons of water or milk
(If desired) food coloring
Instructions:
- Mix the powdered sugar and milk (or water) in a bowl until smooth.
- If using food coloring, separate the icing into different dishes and properly mix in a few drops of your preferred color.
- Use icing to decorate the cooled cookies. You can use a piping bag or a tiny spoon to spread the frosting over the cookies.
- Feel free to add sprinkles, edible glitter, or other decorations to your Christmas cookies to add some festivity and color!
